A Natural Destination
The village sits within the municipality of Los Silos, at the foot of the dramatic Teno massif — one of the oldest geological formations on the island. Just minutes away, the Teno Rural Park offers spectacular hiking routes through volcanic ravines, terraced hillsides, and ancient laurisilva forest. The nearby Masca gorge is one of Tenerife’s most iconic trekking routes, ending at a hidden beach accessible only by boat.
On the coast, Los Silos is known for its natural rock pools and sea swimming areas, calm and sheltered from Atlantic swells. The neighbouring hamlet of La Caleta de Interián — home to one of our rental properties, Casa Oceano — is a tiny fishermen’s village with a real end-of-the-world charm.

The village square comes alive in the evenings: local restaurants serve fresh fish grilled simply, mojo sauces, and papas arrugadas. The weekly market and seasonal festivals keep traditional culture alive. Buenavista del Norte, the nearby town, offers additional restaurants, a golf course, and a historic banana plantation estate.
Getting Around
Puerto de Los Silos is about 55 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 75 km from Tenerife South Airport. The road through the Teno mountains offers some of the most dramatic scenery on the island. A car is recommended to fully explore the area.
